Are You Scared

Plot Summary:

Six teenagers are trapped in an abandoned warehouse and are participating in a reality TV series known as Are You Scared, in which the contestants have to perform a task related to their worst nightmare.

The Pros:

I can't think of one. Not a single pro in this movie.

The Cons:

First of all, there were so many judgment lapses in this movie that I was about to explode! First of all, there is a trap in the game where a brother and sister are strapped to a chair. They each have a remote, which controls one of the two drills aimed at their heads. If one person presses the button marked "Go", the other person's drill stops and aims at the one who pressed it. And yet both of their hands are free. So really, why couldn't they have just kicked the drill out of the way, or used their free hand to at least TRY and pull at their neck restraints.

Second, this movie is an obvious Saw knock-off. Even the first "trap" was a near carbon-copy of one of the Saw traps. The trap? A victim states that his greatest fear is to be awake during surgery. He finds out that there is an explosive device in the next room, and that he has to find the key, (see where I'm going with this?) He then finds out that the bandage over his ribs is a surgical bandage, and that the key is there. He decides not to, and instead of a reverse bear trap killing him, he explodes from the bomb that was apparently inside him... Even though it was in the other room...

Third, the plot made NO SENSE AT ALL! There's all these random hidden guns that would have been cool if we actually had background on the characters. We find out at the end of the movie SPOILER that the girl is somehow the killer's daughter, and that she tried to kill him because he was mean .

So anyway, don't watch this movie. Ever.

Grade: Q. It's so far below an F, I can't even think of an actual letter grade.

Halloween (1978)

Plot: A teen is stuck babysitting on Halloween night. In other news, Michael Myers has broken out of the mental institution he was put in for killing his sister at age 6. Hell-Bent on blood, he's out killing teens... Gruesomely.

Numeral Concensus: 10/10

Pros: Everything. I can not think of a single thing that was wrong with this movie.

Cons: Again, none.

A Final Word: This movie is a revolutionary in the slasher genre. It started the whole "masked-killer-killing-a-bunch-of-dumb-teenagers-and-then-being-killed-by-the-only-smart/responsible-one." Many movies were made after this one that could be considered "revolutionary", but this one started all of them. Definitely check this one out.
